My journey into brain science didn’t begin in a laboratory. It began at the dinner table, when my first child was about 9. Adopted as an infant from Guatemala in the late 1980s, he began to struggle with behavioral challenges that affected academic performance, ruined friendships and evaporated his self-esteem. Our entire family felt it. The confusion. The frustration. The helplessness. The medical community at the time offered little in the way of answers or hope — but something in me refused to accept that this was the end of the story.
That experience ignited what became a three-decade quest to understand the brain and its extraordinary capacity for change. Through years of research, clinical work, and hands-on experience with hundreds of clients, I came to a conclusion that now feels unshakable: the brain is not broken — it is adaptive. It is plastic. And it is designed to heal.
Along the way, I witnessed outcomes that once seemed impossible. People who were told they would never recover cognitive function began to think clearly again. Individuals stuck in cycles of anxiety, depression, and brain fog found their way back to themselves. These moments didn’t just inspire me — they rewired my own beliefs about what’s possible.
Brain Body Science was founded on this truth. Today, I have the privilege of sharing these discoveries with a growing community of people who are no longer willing to settle for “managing symptoms.”
Your brain has the capacity to heal, adapt, and thrive. My role is simply to help you remember how.
